The limitation of having only 5 stash tabs wouldn't pose as much of an issue with a few additional adjustments. Currently, the majority (95%) of my stash is occupied by Aspects that I might potentially use if I ever venture into experimenting with new builds (which I often avoid due to the punishing nature of the process) or rare gear that I'm contemplating whether to use for a new build or to sell.
These challenges could be greatly alleviated with two fundamental changes:
1, The Codex should be enhanced to become upgradeable by exchanging Aspects and should encompass the entire spectrum of available Aspects.
2, Natural Legendary gear should be enhanced in value through a combination of the following measures:
- Always rolling within the top 80% range of a particular stat (for instance, a Cooldown stat consistently rolling between 5.6-7.0).
- Offering the ability to reforge two different stats at the Enchanter.
- Permitting players to designate a specific stat that will consistently appear on a particular type of Legendary gear when acquired via the Enchanter.
- Incorporating a selection pool that guarantees two fixed stats based on the item type (as exemplified below for Barbarians):
Helm: Cooldown, Life, Armor.
Armor: Damage Reduction, Close Damage Reduction, Fortified Damage Reduction, Armor.
Gloves: Critical Chance, Lucky Hit Chance, Attack Speed, +3 to a skill.
Pants: Damage Reduction, Close Damage Reduction, Fortified Damage Reduction, Armor, Injured Damage Reduction.
Boots: Movement Speed, Injured Damage Reduction, Fury Cost.
Amulet: +2 to passive skills, +2 to a specific skill type, Cooldown reduction, Fury cost reduction, Movement speed.
Rings: Critical chance, Critical damage, Vulnerable damage, Life, Maximum fury.
Weapons: All stats, Strength, Critical damage, Vulnerable damage, Close damage, Core damage.
The alteration to the Codex function would eliminate the need to occupy stash space with a stack of "maybes" while awaiting Blizzard's resolution of the build-change inconvenience. This change would obviate the necessity to hoard duplicate Aspects out of fear of losing them while experimenting with unproven builds that might not pan out. By implementing any individual or combination of the suggested Legendary adjustments, the hunt for specific item types could once again evoke excitement since a legendary drop would have a higher probability of being beneficial to your character compared to a rare item.

While the prospect of identifying one's best-in-slot gear from a rare item is indeed appealing, the notion of it being the sole practical avenue becomes wearisome. I've grown weary of allocating 10% of my playtime to interpreting an unorganized list of randomly generated stats on gear, which typically follows any content involving acquiring loot.
Regrettably, at this point, I've somewhat abandoned the notion of playing because every loot-acquisition-related activity only serves to remind me that I'll inevitably spend considerable time following a dungeon run poring over a pile of yellow items and engaging in a game of fitting items into my already brimming stash.
