Starting strategy for Madden 23

I’ve played MUT for years but I always start a few months after the game is released, this year however I’m planning on just playing right out the gate.


What are the best starting strategies for the new game? Challenges, buying packs right away? Etc. When I start a few months after there’s by that time plenty of challenges and packs so I’m not sure what it looks like at the start of MUT.

Contrary to what a lot of these comments are telling you, yes I would buy packs. From my experiences(been heavy into MUT since 19, regular top 100 WL finisher) if you spend money early it will set you up to not have to spend money later. In 21 I didn’t buy packs to start and probably spent $1-2k over the year, in 22 I spent $300 at launch and then only another $400 the rest of the year and my team was top notch all the way up until I sold it off in December.


The more competitive your team is early on the easier it becomes to win WL and Seasons games, which in turn will give you better/higher rewards sooner and faster.


My suggestion is drop at least $100 on packs to start, and focus on either a 50/0 theme team or a 25/25 theme team. Personally I’m between going all 50 titans like I do every year or a 25/25 Titans/Eagles or Ravens since speed in the beta does not seem to be the end all be all of the game anymore.
